EVERY CHILD BELONGS AT CAMP
Every child belongs at our J camps and deserves the opportunity to take risks and accept new challenges. Camp is where we grow and develop these crucial life skills.
Camp is also a place where we’re welcomed as part of this special place – we slow down, take deep breaths, and explore our amazing J. We invite everyone to be silly…laugh…have fun…and make new friends in our safe, nurturing environment. J Camps offer a unique experience where you can choose your “tour” options. While we encourage you to pick a single camp for an entire session where you can build stronger bonds with new friends, you have the opportunity to select individual weeks to check out a different camp.
Our staff is amazing! Many counselors were J campers, and we are all committed to helping your child grow. J Camps are our home away from home, so come home this summer!
Summer 2020 – my 43rd year as the Camp Chai Director, but that doesn’t include the years I worked (and met my husband) at my sleep away camp or my years as a camper starting at age 5. Many have heard me say this – I believe that camp is the most important experience a child can ever have. Why? Because it is at camp, and especially at our J camps, that we provide more than fun – we teach life skills, share values, listen, nurture, care, build community, inspire, and more. We are the place for friendship, belonging, growing, teamwork, independence, and even RISK. We are a place for the whole family forever. “You may leave camp, but camp will never leave you.” Become a part of our family this year!
Join the J Camp Staff – It’ll Change Your Life
Looking for a life-changing summer? Join us to change a child’s life and your own. Spending a summer as a camp staff member will prepare you for your future while having fun, making friends, and being outdoors – sounds impossible…it’s not.

We are now taking applications for camp counselors working with all ages of children in a variety of arenas including sports, gymnastics, traditional camping, and much more. Applicants for junior counselors must be at least 15 years old. We are also hiring senior staff, specialists, and coaches.
We offer a variety of one-week mini camps pre- and post-summer. These experiences usually begin one to two weeks before our first summer session begins, and the week after the last summer session. More camps coming soon!
We offer camp enrichment options for ages 3 – 15. From gymnastics to swim team we have it all!
