Teen Mitzvah Corps
The Teen Mitzvah Corps is an 8-month program (September – May) where a select group of 7th & 8th graders will spend one Sunday a month volunteering. Each month we will highlight a different organization that benefits the Dallas community. Each session will be at least two hours. The first hour will be spent learning about the organization and how they serve the community; the second hour will be spent doing hands-on volunteer work.
During these eight months, teens will be developing leadership skills, networking, and have the opportunity to see first-hand how these organizations impact our community.
Registration is now closed. For more information, please contact Brian Lovelace at email@example.com.
Please note that all dates are subject to change based on availability of organizations. Additional volunteer opportunities may come up throughout the year as well.
There are no upcoming events at this time.
Teens may miss one session per semester.
Some of the types of volunteering we will be doing:
- Volunteering with adults and teens with special needs
- Volunteering at a food pantry
- Volunteering with the homeless
- Learning the importance of making a financial donation
- Connecting with a Lone Solider in Israel
The cost of this 8-month program is $185 for J members and $220 for non-members. This covers a Mitzvah Corps t-shirt, supplies, and the gift the teens will be allocating.
