Wizard of Oz – Week 8
a note from alise

Focus + Excitement = Achievement

The excitement is brewing! Both casts will be running the show this Sunday.

It’s time for our actors to focus their energy and bring all that they have learned to every rehearsal from this point forward. We love the progress they are making. Self-care and rest before rehearsals is important. Please continue to encourage your actor to practice in between rehearsals. Repetition is key.

Everything is coming together nicely. Our costumes look amazing (Ruby Slippers have their fitting this Sunday), set design is looking great, props are being purchased and created, and the stage is being prepped so our stars can shine bright!

Important: Emerald City Volunteers Needed

Please sign up to be on the food committee. We provide the dinner and dessert; we ask that volunteers help with “diner” and purchase a few items to make it festive along with some snacks.

Important: Ruby Slippers Volunteers Needed

We need TWO volunteers for the dressing rooms on Sunday, April 14 at 6 pm. We can’t do it without you – please help. Thank you.

Make-Up for Both Casts
The following is not included on the sign-up form, but if you are interested in helping with make-up, email me at arobinson@jccdallas.org – I can give the specifics. You will not miss a show to help with this; this happens while the actors are getting dressed.

Important – Costume Fittings for Ruby Slippers this Sunday, March 24

I will send a reminder email tomorrow with times slots, specifics on undergarments needed, and how these additional costume items need to arrive to the J. Recap below. Thank you!

Additional Items Needed on Your Costume Fitting Day

Who?
If your actor is any type of Munchkin (ie Tots, Tough Kid, Barrister, Coroner, City Father etc.), Winkie/Guard, Ozian, Apple Tree, Winged Monkey, Jitterbug, Nikko, or Crow they will need to bring the below items. Ask your actor because many actors play multiple roles…so if you are for example Aunt Em, you might also be one of the above in which case you too will need to bring the below for your Sunday fitting. All items below will STAY at the J until after your actor’s performance.

Girls

  • Black long-sleeve t-shirt or long-sleeve leotard
  • Black leggings
  • Black jazz or characters shoes

Boys

  • Black pants
  • Black long-sleeve t-shirt
  • Black shoes

How to Bring Items
Please have each item listed below labeled with your actor’s name and the BAG needs to be clearly labeled with your actor’s name and what cast they are in.This is super important so that we can stay organized!
