Jungle Book and Into the Woods – Week 8

Focus + Excitement = Achievement

The excitement is brewing!  It’s time for our actors to focus their energy and bring all that they have learned to every rehearsal from this point forward. We love the progress they are making. We have a busy, full week ahead!  

Self-care and rest before rehearsals are important. Please continue to encourage your actor to practice in between rehearsals. Repetition is key.

Everything is coming together nicely. Our costumes look amazing, the set design is looking great, props are being purchased and created, and the stage is being prepped so our stars can shine brightly!

It’s hard to believe our time together is coming to an end.  Can’t wait to finish strong and fill our actors with a sense of pride, collaboration, and accomplishment that only the arts can fulfill. 

Behind the Magic

We created a Behind the Magic area of our website highlighting our actors and staff, where you can see the entire creative process of putting on this year’s productions.  Everything from cast headshots, interviews, rehearsals videos, costumes, set design and so much more!  It is full of ongoing content and will eventually house our playbill and performance links of Jungle Book Kids and Into the Woods, JR.  Each week will be updating the page with new and exciting content.  Please click the link and explore the content and be a part of our journey!

Friendly Reminder

All rehearsals are mandatory.  Theater is a team sport.  Each time your actor misses a rehearsal, it completely affects the entire cast.

• Thursday, March 4: 4:30 – 8:30  pm – Drop off begins at 4:15 pm

Food and Snacks

Prior to performance and tech rehearsals, please be sure that our actors have had dinner or something to eat.  You may pack a snack – however, we will be hitting the ground running starting Sunday! 

Jungle Book Cast

• At the beginning of the rehearsal, I spoke with the actors from all four casts about what to expect during tech week and set the expectations to ensure great performances. I also lead them through a self-empowerment meditation.
•  The actors are excited to be in the polishing stage of rehearsal! They get to perform the show on the real stage and constantly improve on what they are doing.
•  With all the dances choreographed, the actors got to spend more time with Ms. Skylar cleaning up the dancing and getting help wherever needed.
• One more rehearsal before tech week! It’s going to be a great week full of costumes, cameras and so much more! 

Into the Woods Cast

• At the beginning of the rehearsal, I spoke with the actors from all four casts about what to expect during tech week and set the expectations to ensure great performances. I also lead them through a self-empowerment meditation.
•  Mrs. Linda reminded the actors to write their show. This allows them to know when they need to make quick changes and keep their entrances and exits in mind.
•  By Wednesday’s rehearsal, none of the actors should have their scripts in their hands. They know their songs and lines so well and keeping the script out of their hands allows them to have more fun with acting.
•  Two more rehearsals until tech week! It’s going to be an amazing week watching everything come together!

Performing Arts Camps
