Focus + Excitement = Achievement

The excitement is brewing! It’s time for our actors to focus their energy and bring all that they have learned to every rehearsal from this point forward. We love the progress they are making. It is important that our actors take time for self-care and rest before rehearsals. Please continue to encourage your actor to practice in between rehearsals. Repetition is key.

Everything is coming together nicely. Our costumes look amazing, set design is looks great, props have been purchased and created, and the stage is being prepped so our stars can shine brightly!

Important – Please encourage your actors to practice.  Everyone should be off book whether the scene is blocked yet or not.

Friendly Reminder

We are at a critical point in the show process where everyone’s participation is needed. Please do not miss any rehearsals. Remember: acting is a team sport.

Electronic Resource Library

PLEASE share this with your actor. Happy practicing!

Pride Rock Highlights

  • We went to the zoo! We saw warthogs, lions, zebras, giraffes, etc. We were lucky enough to receive some special presentations about all our favorite African animals.
  • Our meditation theme was perseverance. It’s getting close to tech week, so we need our kids to keep working hard!
  • Miss Amy choreographed the infamous Hawaiian Luau Treat.
  • We rehearsed various scenes and songs from Act 2.
  • Miss Skylar reminded our kids that we only have 2 Sunday rehearsals left until tech week. It’s important for every actor to write out their show and review the resources on our Educational Resource Library.

Hakuna Matata Highlights

  • This morning before rehearsal, we went to the zoo with our cast so they could get in touch with their inner animal before the show opens!
  • We finished choreographing The Mourning with our lionesses and practiced Simba’s final lift in Just Can’t Wait to Be King!
  • During our snack break, our actors learned two new animal facts – butterflies taste with the feet and octopuses have nine brains!
  • We did another stumble through of the show and we managed to go from the opening number – Circle of Life all the way through the Finale! Way to go everybody!

Costume Fittings

If your actor has not brought a bag in yet with all their undergarments needed for the show, they MUST do this on Sunday please!

How to Bring Items
Please have each item labeled with your actor’s name; the BAG needs to be clearly labeled with your actor’s name and what cast they are in. This is super important so we can stay organized!

Our Day at the Zoo!

We had an awesome day at the zoo this past Sunday, March 17! Thank you so much to everyone who attended. During the visit, we saw warthogs, gorillas, prairie dogs, and even had a live demo on predators.. We also got to celebrate the birthday of a certain famous lion, Bahati, who served as the model for Simba in Disney’s live action The Lion King!

Shout Out To Everyone Who Volunteered!

We did it! Thank you. You rock!
Dressing room volunteers: I sent each dressing room cast volunteer an additional sign-up sheet for tech days.  Remember, we will need you to select TWO days of tech to join us so that you are prepared and ready for performances. Theater magic…here we come! Food Committee:  I sent each cast’s food committee an email with all the details.  Please let me know if you have any questions.

Galleria Preview Showcase

This year, our Galleria Preview Showcase is going to be Thursday, March 28 from 6-6:30 pm. Level 1, near Tiffany & Co. Come out and support your fellow actors! We would love to see everyone there! The call time for our Galleria performers is 5 pm.  We will be having our extra rehearsal for the Galleria participants this Sunday from 5:30 – 7:30.

Kids Are Marketers Too!

Please ask your actors if they gave out their marketing flyers that we provided two Sundays ago. If they have not, please encourage them to do so. If they want a few more, I might have some extras. Just have them ask me.

Complimentary Tickets & Purchased Tickets

Those of you who sent me their bios early, you will receive an additional complimentary ticket! All complimentary and purchased tickets will be available at Will Call on the day of the performances.
