Passion, Dedication, and Commitment!

Everyone is going to be stepping up their “show” game the next few weeks, so get ready – very exciting!

Both casts should be off-book – way to go! All extra lines have been provided. We made it here because of everyone’s hard work. Our directors are working with our actors to find the intention and motivations behind what their characters are saying/doing. It is important for the actors to find the intention behind their words and actions on stage. By doing so, our actors will perform with conviction and purpose when they “tell” the story to the audience. It’s amazing to see it all come together!

PLEASE encourage your actors to use the resource library where they can find all the choreography videos and songs. These next few weeks will be challenging and thrilling. Again, actors will begin to put the show together from top to bottom; lots of energy will be needed.

Please continue to encourage them to learn and practice their lines, choreography, and blocking. Self-care is extremely important as we move into this last phase in the creative process. Sleep, rest, eating well, and meditation are all tools we hope they use to find their inner balance and calm during these upcoming weeks!

Theater transforms children in so many ways. I hope all of you are seeing the positive impact it is making in your actor’s life. We sure do!

SPRING BREAK FAMILIES! I can’t stress this enough, please encourage your actors to put in the time to rehearse and watch the videos.  As one of our actors who is 7 said it best.  “Since we don’t have school, this means we can even put more time into practicing at home for the show.  If we all do it, think about how much better off we will be.”  Great advice and perspective!

Friendly Reminder

It is important that our actors don’t miss rehearsal. We are at a critical point in the show process where everyone’s participation is needed. Remember: acting is a team sport.

Rehearsal: Sunday, March 13

Front doors to the JCC will be open.  Please have your actor walk through the lobby doors.
Please note: There will be two events happening at the JCC which will impact the drop off process.  Please account for additional time and park in the main parking lot or federation park lot. Pick up will not be impacted.

Costume Fittings

  • Spoon Full of Sugar – Everyone who did not get fit this past Sunday will be fit DURING rehearsals on March 13th and/or 20th per previous emails.
  • Step in Time – will have costume fittings starting this Sunday March 13 and 20th PRIOR to rehearsals. Check your time slot provided in my emails.  Uncertain?  Email me.

Please remember to bring your actors base layers/added items to their fittings.

How to Bring Items
Please have each item labeled with your actor’s name; the BAG needs to be clearly labeled with your actor’s name and what cast they are in. This is super important so we can stay organized!

Understudy Survey – The Show Must GO ON!

They Do It On Broadway….  We Are Doing it At JPAS J

In less than 4 weeks our first cast, Spoon Full of Sugar will take the stage, proceeded by Step In Time Cast.  As COVID is still happening, despite our desire, I am taking a tally of who would be able to be an understudy, for the same role, should their counterpart in the other cast become effected with COVID.

Please check your emails from Monday from me with more detail. But for now…

Please click this link and fill out this form. Thank you to all who have done so already!

Volunteering is Fun!

Thank you to everyone who has already signed-up! Awesome! We CAN NOT do it without you. We will need all Dressing Room positions filled for both casts. Working in the dressing rooms behind the scenes is such a thrill.  It’s an opportunity to see everything in action from a very different perspective.  As a dressing room volunteer you will get to experience and see theater magic truly unfold. 😊 Reminder: I will be sending out a separate email for those who signed up for the dressing rooms and the food committee.

We have been busy finalizing all the projections and videos to accompany our set!  Next week the set will begin to be painted and lights will be programmed!  It’s looking so good. Combine that with our amazing costumes and our actors hard work… and boom! We will have a show! 😊

Kids Are Marketers Too!
