As a professional dancer, Lynn Oristano developed a chronic hip problem and began working with Pilates exercises at the Cleveland Clinic’s Sports Rehab Center in 1992. After seeing the benefits and results of her own personal rehabilitation, Lynn was certified to teach the Pilates method. She has certified with Elizabeth Jones Boswell in Houston in 1997, the Physicalmind Institute in 1999, and Stott Pilates in 2002 and 2006. Lynn holds a B.F.A. in Dance from The Ohio State University and an M.F.A. in Dance from Texas Woman’s University. In addition to performing, Lynn has taught ballet, modern dance, and jazz techniques for various dance conservatories, college, and university programs as well as creative dance in elementary and high schools. Lynn was a senior Pilates instructor at the Oasis Mind-Body Conditioning Center in Dallas from 1997 – 2007 and joined the staff of Z-Pilates at the J in January 2008. She teaches group Pilates matwork, barre, and PilatesStick classes and also trains a wide range of private clients from those requiring physical rehabilitation to those who are fit and athletic.
