The J reserves the right to cancel a class if there is insufficient registration. If a class or activity is cancelled, you are notified and a full refund is processed automatically. Please allow three to four weeks to receive your refund.
If you cancel your enrollment in a class or activity before the first session, a $10 administrative fee is deducted from your refund. Once a class or activity has begun, or the deadline to cancel enrollment has passed, there are no refunds.
In order to keep consistent classes and small instructor-to-student ratios, we do not offer makeup classes. Rather, we factor a missed class into the pricing for each session.

JOB TITLE: Marketing Summer Camp Intern
REPORTS TO: Director of Marketing and Communications/Director of Camping Services
OVERVIEW: The Marketing intern’s primary responsibility will be social media for our J Dallas Summer camps. We are looking for someone who can new ideas and creative energy to our team. The ideal candidate is pursuing a degree in a Marketing related field, passionate about social media and enjoys thinking out of the box!
This position will work closely with Marketing Department and Camp Directors to capture the essence of our summer camp programs, create online engagement, and communicate effectively with camp staff and parents.
RESPONSIBILITIES
• Taking photos and videos throughout camp
• Creating content and brainstorming ideas for social media, reels, and stories
• Monitoring social media accounts, trends, and news
• Scheduling content for JCC Summer Camp Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok account
• Creating and brainstorming ideas for camp newsletters, blogs, and email campaigns

JOB TITLE: Basketball Scorekeeper
REPORTS TO: Sports Coordinator
OVERVIEW: The Basketball Scorekeeper will be responsible for planning and carrying out the Basketball program agenda in accordance with the stated purposes and goals of the JCC.
The Basketball Scorekeeper is a part-time, non-exempt position with a maximum of 29 hours per week. The work schedule will vary. Games are Monday through Thursday 6:45pm-10:00pm and
Sunday 7:45am-11:00am and 1:00pm-6:00pm. The Jewish Community Center is an EOE (equal opportunity employer).
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Able to work as scheduled and arrive 15-20 minutes prior to scheduled league time to set up the court.
- Understand the rules of basketball.
- Have the ability to keep score of a basketball game on the JCC score clock and scorebook.
- Check names in scorebook with the roster to insure waiver is signed.
- Put scorebooks and score clocks in their proper place after the league games are over.
- Pick up towels, uniforms and debris as needed. Check that the environment is safe for play. Make sure balls are secure during play.
- Store equipment in storage closet neatly.
- Properly complete your part-time payroll form, located in the S&F storage closet, after each session worked.
- Understand the JCC’s emergency procedures.
- Continually being a positive role model for all JCC members.

REPORTS TO: Sports & Fitness Operations Manager
OVERVIEW: The Fitness Center Associate is responsible for member services, performing standard operations, and enforcing policies at the front desk and on the fitness floor. This position is a part-time, non-exempt position with a maximum of 29 hours per week. Hours will vary for this position, but has the potential for weekday, weeknight, and weekend hours. General Responsibilities:
- Greet members and guests while maintaining a professional demeanor to deliver exceptional hospitality. Become familiar with members’ names as a tool to aid in customer service.
- Learn and enforce JCC Fitness Center rules and guidelines.
- Assist in the supervision and safe operation of the fitness center.
- Stay up to date with communication via the When I Work application.
- Attend all scheduled shifts on time and appropriately attired. Flexibility in schedule is required.

Reports to: Gymnastics Camp Director
Summer camp counselors are responsible for teaching children high-quality gymnastics instruction while providing a safe, nurturing, and exciting learning environment for campers. Additional responsibilities include assisting with games, swimming, field trips, theme weeks, and more!
Camp dates this year are May 28 – August 16, and camps run in either weekly or three-week sessions. Camp hours are 8:30 am – 4:15 pm and we may hire half-day staff depending on need.

JOB TITLE: Kids Club Attendant
REPORTS TO: Sports and Fitness Operations Manager
OVERVIEW: The Kids Club Attendant will observe, monitor, and interact with all children in our Kids Club facility. This position will ensure each child has a safe and pleasant experience. The Jewish Community Center is an EOE (equal opportunity employer).
This part-time position is classified as non-exempt and will work 25.00 hours per week. Work hours will be Monday – Friday 9:00am – 2:00pm.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Greet all children into the Kids Club facility with a welcoming smile.
- Care for children 3 months to 9 years old while parents are utilizing the Fitness Center.
- Maintain a safe environment by being always aware of surroundings.
- Ensure that each child is signed in and out of Kids Club and that parents pay with Kids Club coupons.
- Communicate respectfully with parents, guardians, children, and coworkers.
- Maintain an energetic and friendly personality, coupled with patience with all children.
- Keep room organized and clean, take reservations, check voicemail, and return phone calls.
- Attend all Kids Club staff meetings.

- Assist in direct service oversight for all components of JCC Maccabi Games.
- Assist in the creation of the marketing strategy for JCC Maccabi Games program in cooperation with JCC’s Marketing Department and lead JCC Maccabi Delegation Head including printed promotion materials as well as internet advertisements.
- Serve as a JCC Maccabi Games Assistant Delegation head. Assist in interviewing, hiring, training and supervision of volunteer coaches, and assistant delegation heads. Assist in training coaches and assistant delegation heads to work appropriately with program participants to provide a safe and secure program, to maintain good sportsmanship and understand the mission and values of the JCC Maccabi Games Program.
- Assist in developing, monitoring, and reconciling budgets for JCC Maccabi games including travel expenses, uniforms.
- Submit paperwork such as payment information forms and purchase orders in a timely manner for the JCC Maccabi Games program.
- Ensure that payments and forms arrive to the JCCA based on imposed deadlines.

OVERVIEW: The Head Lifeguard will report to the Aquatics Director and will provide lifeguard coverage of the pools, as well as supervision of lifeguard staff and facility, at the JCC of Dallas according to American Red Cross standards for lifeguarding. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Daily oversight of the pool area, following the policies and procedures outlined in the JCC Aquatics Staff Manual, JCC Employee Handbook, and the American Red Cross maintaining a safe and healthy pool and program.
- Demonstrate and model standards of a professional lifeguard for the patrons and members and other lifeguards, enforcing pool rules, showing a positive attitude in all interactions, recognize and respond effectively to all emergencies.
- Ensure all procedures and policies are followed directly by on-duty lifeguards.
- Maintains order in both indoor and outdoor pool areas at all times.
- Maintain the cleanliness of the pool and pool areas.

The Facilities Technician position will effectively and efficiently operate and maintain all building functions, including performing maintenance from tenant requests, and carrying out all JCC responsibilities for site with support from the Maintenance Supervisor. The Gymnastics Team Director is responsible for coaching gymnasts, supervising the competitive team, and assisting in the planning and organization of the JCC Gymnastics program as outlined below. - Direct and lead the gymnastics competitive team. This includes the planning, implementation, day-to-day tasks, and ongoing evaluation of the program.
- Hire, train, and supervise team coaches. Train staff to work appropriately with children and provide a fun, safe, and positive environment. Create a thorough team curriculum for skills, drills, and lesson plans.
- Assist with managing all aspects of the gymnastics program as needed (preschool to adult). This includes classes, break programs, summer camp, late nights, and special events. Coach a portion of these programs, adhering to our gymnastics instructor guidelines and sub as needed.
- Determine the team calendar, practice times, rotation schedules, and gymnast groupings/levels.
- Create, implement, and enforce all team policies for staff, parents, and gymnasts.

- Set up and manage team registration including tuition forms and apparel ordering.

The Manager on Duty (MOD) will assume the lead role in oversight of the JCC during their assigned shift, including the fitness desk, fitness floor, aquatics, gymnastics, gymnasium, tennis, group exercise rooms, main lobby and preschool area. This individual will monitor the facilities for safe and efficient operations for all members and guests of the JCC.
Hours will vary for this position but could be both weekday, weeknight, and weekend hours. Please indicate current hours of availability when applying. Essential Functions
- Immediately upon arrival for your work shift, check-in with the Fitness Desk, Welcome Desk and any other appropriate staff. This confirms they know you are on duty and they know how to contact you, either by cell phone or mobile radio.
- Walk through the building at least once an hour to manage facility operations, safety, and provide customer service (greeting to members/guests) to everyone. Focus on the Fitness Desk to assist with member and guest check-in as needed. Monitor facility access points. Provide facility tours to prospective members as needed.
- Opening MOD will follow all opening procedures. Opening MOD will meet with the closing MOD to pass any pertinent information for the day. Closing MOD will follow all closing procedures to clear and secure the building. Check any special events taking place to insure adequate coverage and operations are in place.
Operations & Safety
- Know where the four AEDs and First Aid supplies are located.
- Be familiar with the Emergency Planning and Crisis Management procedures.
- Take the lead in all medical related issues – establish control of the situation and communicate the emergency immediately to the General Manager and/or other senior management.
- If someone has a heart attack, loses consciousness, or any serious injury, call 911 (When in doubt, call 911).
- Engage staff as needed (depending on emergency) and follow emergency manual procedures.
- For safety related emergencies (fire, weather, facility, or security), get everything under control and then communicate the emergency immediately to the General Manager and/or other senior management. Enforce all policies and procedures appropriately and engage department personnel as needed.
- Fill out an incident report and submit it to the General Manager.
Operations Service
- When doing walk-throughs, greet members/guests (by name if possible).
- Check-in with staff in each department to ensure everything is fine and safe: fitness desk, fitness floor, aquatics, gymnastics, gymnasium, tennis, group exercise rooms, main lobby and preschool area.
- Make sure that maintenance and housekeeping are aware of all situations needing attention such as supply of towels, locker room and restroom supplies, locker room cleanliness; trash pick-up, etc.
- Submit a report to the General Manager for anything unsafe, out of the ordinary, or for general awareness of operational issues.
- Understand and follow the JCC emergency procedures.
- Serve as a positive role model for all JCC members.
- Predictable and reliable in attendance.

The Lifeguarding Instructor will report to the Aquatics Director and will provide lifeguard training at the JCC of Dallas according to American Red Cross standards for lifeguarding courses. OVERVIEW: The Director of Camping Services oversees the creation, promotion, staffing, curriculum, and administrative function of all summer camp programs. Each year, the Director of Camping Services leads all efforts to develop and deliver an annual array of camp programs and opportunities that are fresh and keep pace with current trends. The Director of Camping Services is a leader expected to grow camp by 20% over 3 years and to meet budgeted expectations while working with stakeholders to develop/deliver a vision for camp that is compelling, creative, and profitable. Reports to: Director of Camping Services
The Camp Office Manager is responsible for supporting the operational and administrative processes within the Camp department. This is a full-time, 40 hours per week, non-exempt position with benefits. Work hours will be 8:30 am – 5:30 pm, Monday – Friday and occasional evening/weekend events as needed. General Administration
- Share a commitment to the success of the mission, goals, and objectives of the JCC.

- Keep the appropriate Director abreast of all necessary information including but not limited to customer and staff complaints and incidents.
- Answer and direct incoming calls.

- Attend committee meetings and takes minutes when requested.
- Participate in all-staff meetings and functions.
- Assist with providing a safe and secure environment for all members; if any facility problems arise, notify facilities manager to make sure that the facility is clean, equipment is in proper working order and safe and secure for members and staff.
- Complete transfers and document drops and refunds, purchase orders, and check requests.
- Learn and be able to use the Thinsoft system for inquiries, checking and printing rosters, understanding member status, and all other purposes necessary for proper camp registration/administration.
- Perform other duties as needed by your supervisor(s).
Camp Administration
- Proactively manage camper registration and registration changes – this includes reviewing documentation, contacting families for additional documents needed, coordinating changes between different camps, submitting transfers/refunds/additions for Thinsoft updates, maintaining/updating camp databases, and any other items needed to ensure that lists/rosters/payments for camps are accurate.
- Assist Accounting Department with collecting outstanding camp balances and transfer fees.
- Maintain up-to-date budget summaries. Manage expenses by working closely with Camp Director to ensure all expenses are paid through proper channels (PO, credit card, petty cash, etc.) and captured/recorded in the proper location. Review and potentially implement new systems to ensure budget is tracked correctly.
- Once hiring decisions have been made by Camp Directors, prepare contracts supervise the distribution and timely collection of hiring paperwork for all camp staff. Track camp staff tardiness and absences and submit necessary information to the Payroll Department for payroll processing.
- Prepare reports of current/past campers and provide analysis of reports to help with planning and decision-making processes as needed.
- Formulate correspondence to campers, parents, camp staff, JCC staff, and/or potential camp families as needed. Set up and manage process for sending birthday cards to campers during appropriate time frame.
- Adhere to policies and procedures related to the maintenance of all camp records and files. Maintain, update, and track documentation as required, including camper information for files, parent contact, visitors, incident and accident reporting, sign-up sheets, camp schedules, employee tardiness and absences, camp registration changes, etc. Request additional information when needed.
- Supervise implementation of licensing and safety procedures.
- Take ownership and support the camp administration in the effective implementation of the Camp’s Emergency Response Plan.
- Work closely with Camp Directors to ensure that everything is organized for Camp trips and/or special events, including managing vendor contracts, paying deposits, coordinating bus schedules, etc.
- Assist Camp Directors with planning, organizing, and implementing special events throughout the year, such as Camp Reunions, Camp Party Day, etc. Ensure that event information is publicized in an appropriate manner.
- Participate in regular camp staff meetings throughout the year to plan and prepare for Camp. Create materials to support meetings.
- Assist with creation or adjustment of policies/procedures for upcoming camp season.
- Request, review, and manage marketing materials for all Camps, including materials to market towards potential staff. Ensure that accurate and positive information is contained in all marketing materials.
- Maintain excellent parent relations and communication through a positive manner and professional image.
- Work effectively with parents and staff to develop and maintain parents’ confidence in the Camp staff.
- Maintain confidentiality in all aspects of position.
- Demonstrate genuine concern for the campers and staff by maintaining high personal standards and strong work ethic. Be consistent and reliable in arrival and attendance to assure the proper operation of Camp.
- During Camp, act as primary contact for camper schedule changes (early pick-ups, changes to bus or carpool schedules, carpooling changes, etc.). Record, track, and distribute camper schedule changes to ensure all necessary staff members are made aware of changes.
- During Camp, assist counselors and staff with managing camper injuries, discipline issues, pickup/drop-off etc.
- Submit requests for maintenance and repair orders.
Education/Experience
- Bachelor or Associates degree preferred. High school diploma or GED required.
- Minimum 5 years of administrative support experience.
- High level of proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, and Access.
- Ability to learn and implement new computer programs.
- Experience with maintaining and updating customer databases.
- Must have a proven track record of accounting and math skills.
- Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Must have a proven track record of utilizing good judgment to work independently.
- Ability to carry out multiple and diverse tasks concurrently; detail-oriented a must; able to work in a fast-paced environment.

The Early Childhood Office Manager supports staff and leadership, provides customer service, and office management. This role supports programs to parents, as well as members of the GECC and Camp Programs (GECC/CPP). This is a 40 hour per week, non-exempt, benefit level position. The Youth & Teen Services Director is a Department Head position. This position creates the department vision with the Youth & Teen Services Committee. This position is responsible for providing overall professional planning, direction, supervision, and administration of the Youth & Teen Services department of the JCC. - Program Development
- Develop and implement ongoing programs, classes, and events for children (K – 6th grade) and teens (grades 7 – 12).
- Plan afternoon, weeknight, and weekend programs for children (K – 6th grade) and teens (grades 7 – 12).
- Organize and implement vacation programs for youth.
- Create trips and special events for families.
- Coordinate special events appropriate for the department (e.g. Hanukkah, Purim, Passover, etc.).

- Responsible for the overall measurable year-to-year growth of the JCC Maccabi Games program through recruiting and retaining program participants.
- Creating marketing strategy for JCC Maccabi Games program in cooperation with JCC’s Marketing Department including printed promotion materials as well as internet advertisements.
- Serve as JCC Maccabi Games Delegation head, which includes interviewing, hiring, training and supervision of volunteer coaches, and assistant delegation heads. Training coaches and assistant delegation heads to work appropriately with program participants to provide a safe and secure program, to maintain good sportsmanship and understand the mission and values of the JCC Maccabi Games program.
- Developing, monitoring, and reconciling budgets for JCC Maccabi games including travel expenses, uniforms.
- Submitting paperwork such as payment information forms and purchase orders in a timely manner for the JCC Maccabi Games program.
- Ensuring that payments and forms arrive to the JCCA based on imposed deadlines.
- Birthday Parties
- Coordinate all aspects of birthday parties for youth.
- Recruit, supervise, and train party staff.
- In conjunction with Marketing Department promote birthday parties.
- Coordinate with Hospitality Director and other agency staff space planning for parties.
