Looking for a fun and rewarding and exciting job? Look no further than the JCC of Dallas Aquatics center! We are currently seeking lifeguards and experienced head lifeguards for the upcoming summer season as well as year-round. As a lifeguard, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safety of our patrons while they enjoy the pool. Responsibilities include monitoring swimmers, enforcing pool rules, and responding to emergencies. Candidates must be certified by American Red Cross in Lifeguarding/CPR/AED/First Aid – and we offer training here at the J!

Do you also love teaching and working with children? We are hiring swim instructors for the year-round Lenny Krayzelburg Swim Academy and our JCC summer camp swim lesson program. As a swim instructor, you will have the opportunity to help children learn how to swim and develop their skills in the water. No swim instructor experience is required – we provide PAID training in our proprietary SwimRight curriculum!

Hourly Pay: Lifeguards $14-18/hr | Swim Instructors $15-19/hr

JOB TITLE: Lifeguard

REPORTS TO: Aquatics Director

OVERVIEW: The Lifeguard will report to the Aquatics Director and will provide lifeguard coverage of the pools, at the JCC of Dallas according to American Red Cross standards for lifeguarding. EOE (equal opportunity employer).

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Daily oversight of the pool area, following the policies and procedures outlined in the JCC Aquatics Staff Manual and the American Red Cross maintaining a safe and healthy pool and program.
  • Demonstrate and model standards of a professional lifeguard for the patrons and members and other lifeguards, enforcing pool rules, showing a positive attitude in all interactions, and recognizing and responding effectively to all emergencies.
  • Maintains order in both indoor and outdoor pool areas at all times.
  • Maintain the chemical logs in a professional manner by recording chlorine and pH levels, water temperature, and usage statistics and reporting problems to Aquatics Director.
  • Keeps management well informed of pool maintenance needs including cleaning, chemical adjustments, and repairs.
  • Maintain the cleanliness of the pool and pool area.
  • Completes cleaning and maintenance duties as trained.
  • Assists with training of new lifeguard personnel.
  • Provide customer service based on the JCC Customer Service Policy.
  • Be identifiable as a JCC Lifeguard by being in uniform and at your workstation.
  • Regular, predictable attendance is required.
  • Additional duties as assigned by the Aquatics Director.

JOB TITLE: Swim Instructor

REPORTS TO: Aquatics Director

OVERVIEW: We are looking for outgoing and dynamic swim instructors for our Lenny Krayzelburg Swim Academy.

Previous experience as a swim instructor is not required but is a plus. 40 hours of initial training is required and provided by our facility.

Swim instructors must adhere to all Lenny Krayzelburg Swim Academy policies and procedures. Instructors must be able to work independently but must also be team players. Dependability and punctuality are a must! If you are looking to teach in a friendly and team-oriented atmosphere, we want you!

Swim Instructor positions are part-time, non-exempt positions with a maximum of 29 hours per week (weekend hours are required). The Jewish Community Center is an EOE (equal opportunity employer).
