The 100 days summer challenge is a great way to get you moving and improve your mental and physical health. For every 30 minutes of physical activity, you earn a point. The challenge is not just about logging points, it’s about building a sustainable and enjoyable routine. Winners will be awarded prizes.

Rock The Raft:
Starts June 14th

Back by popular demand! Bring a whole new level of fun to your workout this summer. Our Rock the Raft class fuses together core movement, strength, and yoga moves while floating on our aqua base mats. Get ready to find your “zen” in thw pool this summer. Wednesdays, June 14 –  August 23 at 7 pm.

Pickleball Bootcamp
August 11 & 12

Up your pickleball game this summer with The J’s revolutionary new pickleball-wellness adult camp! This unique two-day, high-intensity camp balances pickleball drills and skills with practical wellness programming for a truly balanced experience.

Dates and Times: August 11 from 8 am -3 pm and Saturday, August 12 from 12 pm to 6 pm
Skill Level: Advanced Beginner to Intermediate –(Level 2.5 to Level 3.75)

Friday’s Line Up:
  • Focused drills for skill development dinks, third shot drops, volleys, and overheads
  • There will be a Lunch & Learn Session: Improving mental game with Katie Chavez
  • Pickleball Stretch: Conclude your day with this luscious pickle stretch class.  Take your body through a series of stretches that will elongate the muscles that you use most when playing. Bring your paddle and we will observe the muscles that flex as you grip and offer counter poses.
Saturday’s Line Up:
  • Court Coverage, lobs, Progression of drills, drill games to game play-Putting your new tools to practice. Focused ball control with technique and stroke development.
  •  Introduction to Doubles Strategy
  • There will be a Lunch & Learn Session: Sports Nutrition with Lizzy Devitt
  • Wellness Pickle Fit Conditioning Class – This class will serve elements of conditioning to boost your game and train you for everyday life movement. Look to find more longevity with the game and more pleasure with the activity when you are on the court.

Melissa Pedroza is a co-founder and Pickleball Coach at Pickleball TeamWorks, where she brings her passion for teaching and helping people improve their game. With a creative mindset that expands into her Pickleball drills, Melissa has been a competitive athlete since middle school, growing up in Oregon, where she eventually received several track scholarship offers.
When she’s not busy teaching pickleball, Melissa is running around DFW supporting her own children’s athletic goals, from one soccer field to another. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Nutrition & Food Management – Food Systems Management 2001 and an A.A. Culinary Degree from Le Cordon Bleu- Orlando Culinary Academy- 2004.
With a background in Volleyball at the College Level and Coaching High School Junior Varsity and Club, Melissa brings her expertise to Pickleball, with 8 years of competitive experience, including 5 years at the 5.0 Level. As a USA Pickleball Ambassador since 2018, she is actively involved in promoting the sport. Melissa is also a Co-Founder/Coach of the Non-Profit AAU Junior Pickleball Club- Paddles Up and participated in the 2021 AAU Junior Olympics with her team.
With over four years of coaching and building junior pickleball and two years as a Buffalo Creek Head Pickleball Pro, Melissa offers private lessons and drill groups. As a Head Sponsored Player from 2020-2023, she is also the Head Penn Distributor. Melissa holds an IPTPA Teaching Certification since 2020 and won the APP Legacy Open in Arizona in 4/22 Gold- 5.0 Mixed 19+. Her outgoing, people-person personality combined with her expertise and experience makes Melissa an exceptional coach, perfect for corporate and health club industries alike.

Jessica Welch fell in love with this social, lighthearted sport when she was in her 20s, and has been playing since! She is a mom of two and has a background in fitness and personal training. She became a certified PPR pickleball coach in 2019. Her favorite thing to coach is themed clinics on doubles strategy, or focusing on fundamentals like footwork and paddle readiness. She hopes to see you on the courts soon!

Francyne Jewett is a well-known pickleball advocate in the DFW area, known for her promotional skills, leadership, and dedication to the sport. 

After completing her Bachelor of Business Administration in Marketing from Mercer University and raising three children with her husband, Earl, Francyne found her true calling in the emerging sport of pickleball. 

Her deep understanding of marketing and her passion for the sport led her to co-found Pickleball TeamWorks, a pioneering organization dedicated to promoting and advancing the sport of pickleball.

As a co-founder of Pickleball TeamWorks, Francyne plays a pivotal role in providing team building services to organizations, organizing tournaments, clinics, and events to foster the growth of pickleball at various levels. Through her efforts, she aims to provide opportunities for players of all ages and skill levels to enjoy and excel in the sport. 

As a certified coach through the Professional Pickleball Registry (PPR), she leverages her extensive knowledge and experience to guide players towards improving their skills and achieving their goals.

In addition to her coaching role, Francyne serves as a USA Pickleball Ambassador and Co-Regional Director of the Mid South Region. In these roles, she acts as a liaison between the pickleball community and the national organization, working tirelessly to promote the sport and ensure its continued growth and inclusivity within the region.

Francyne’s dedication to pickleball extends beyond coaching and administrative roles. She also  participates in numerous pickleball tournaments over. Her unwavering determination has led her to win many medals, including a prestigious gold medal as an amateur at the 2019 USA Pickleball National Championships.

Outside of her pickleball endeavors, Francyne remains committed to giving back to the community. She served as the former Pickleball Director for TCD (Tennis Competitors of Dallas), where she utilized her expertise to create opportunities for people from all walks of life to engage in pickleball and experience the joy and benefits of the sport. Furthermore, she dedicates her time as the coach of the AAU Paddles Up Pickleball team, mentoring young players and instilling in them a love for the sport and the values of sportsmanship and teamwork.

Katie Chavez grew up in central Minnesota and has always had a bug for adventure. For as long as she can remember, she wanted to help people in some way and then she found life coaching.

She began her coaching practice in March of 2017 with the mission to help people step into their big dreams. Whether that was finding their purpose in life, discovering what they want to do in their lives, or taking a leap of faith and working to make their dreams come true.

Katie moved to Dallas in the Fall of 2018 and continued her life coaching practice, helping people of all demographics improve any and all areas of life through one-to-one coaching. She has recently become certified through The Life Coach School and is stepping into bigger, more inspiring dreams every year. She says she loves her life, her husband of two years,  her home in Dallas TX, and the clients she serves with all her heart.

Lizzie + Michael Wildflowers

Lizzie Devitt has worked in many different environments in the health and wellness world – from a chiropractor’s office to retail to corporate wellness programs. She received her Master’s degree from the University of North Texas in 2020, and then went on to receive a health coaching certification through the American Council on Exercise. A self-proclaimed nutrition nerd, she has a passion for teaching others how to incorporate small changes to create sustainable habits.
