Hello Camp Parents,

As we approach the end of Session 2 and the halfway point of summer camp, I am pleased to report that we continue to see progress in our swimmers. When we talk about progress, please know that does not always mean mastering a skill or a level and could mean anything from overcoming a fear, trying something new, or gaining confidence.

Mastering skills and levels is of course our goal, but one of our core philosophies to the SwimRight® method and the Lenny Krayzelburg Swim Academy is that each child is unique and should be able to work at their own pace. Our instructors focus on creating trust with each child and through that working on showing them the proper way each skill and drill should look and feel. Learning how to swim, like any skill, is a lifelong pursuit that if worked on continuously, will reap the greatest rewards and in this case a lifesaving ability.

If you are interested in detailed information on our skills, drills, or levels, please reach out to me directly at 214-239-7141 or dtaylor@jccdallas.org and I will be happy to explain over the phone or via email our program and its curriculum.

Swim reports for Session 1 have been sent out to both Camp Chai and Simchah, and we hope that you have found them useful. They are designed to be simplistic so if you would like more information, please reach out to me and I will coordinate a detailed update with your child’s swim teacher.

Session 2 reports will be sent out a week following the end of the session.

Thank you,
Daniel Taylor
