Camp Parents,

Another week of camp swimming lessons has come and gone! This week all of our swimmers in Camp Chai and Simchah were placed into their swim levels on Monday after evaluations took place during week one. It has been wonderful to see the children grow in confidence and skill so quickly! All swimmers will have an end-of-session skills testing and report completed at the end of next week. Reports will be going out digitally this year and there will be instructions on how to access that in next week’s blog!

Today was very special for two of our units in Camp Chai who got to participate in the World’s Largest Swim Lesson event! Our campers joined children from other pools across the country all participating in this one-day-only swimming extravaganza! While we did not break the world record, which is currently 1,308 swimmers, we did fill our outdoor pool with over 200 campers! It was quite a sight to see that many children participating in one large group lesson which focuses mainly on water safety. This event is done annually to raise awareness about swim lessons and the importance of each child learning how to swim.

It is never a better time for our children to be learning this life-saving skill as they are going to be exposed to more pools and open water areas during the summer. Swimming is a skill that should be practiced throughout the year to maintain, so don’t forget that we have classes all year, seven days a week at the Lenny Krayzelburg Swim Academy!
